Description: Nanobots make repairs on your drone, robot, or android by healing 150 points of damage.

While this was a good skill for keeping my drones operational, I’d have to keep my eye on this to see if it costs credits to use or not. That might sound odd, but if creating drones cost credits, then I wasn’t about to bet that it wouldn’t cost credits for the repair. Frowning at that thought, I loaded up the next skill crystal.

Basic Warranty Hack

Tick Duration: 1.5s

Description: Continuously heals the target for 10 points of damage every few seconds for the duration of the nano skill.

Huh, now this was interesting, I thought checking over the information. This lasted for a much longer heal-over-time and each tick did double the amount of healing as my Soothing Boost. Seeing the Neogenus looking at me expectantly, I arched my eyebrow.

“So, what’s so special about this Basic Warranty Hack?” I asked, knowing that he was dying to tell me.

“It’s a second heal-over-time and stacks with Soothing Boost,” Bruvoug excitedly explained, “Both of these skill trees are a Fixer’s bread and butter. Along with your high Run Speed, they’ll be what helps you survive when everyone else is being cut down in a fight as long as you keep upgrading them as soon as you level up.” He winked seeing the realization of what he’d just said sinking in. “And exactly what you need when you’re out soloing on your own.”

“Okay, that is pretty awesome,” I agreed with a smirk. As he pointed the Lock Pick at the components in front of him, I cut him off, “What about the lesson you promised on illegally modifying my MS Grot Mk 1A?”

“I’ll show you while you’re popping out the fuses,” Bruvoug said with a wave at the components that he’d laid out, “Just make sure you keep the good and bad fuses in their separate piles.”

The work went pretty quickly. Bruvoug showed me how to use the Lock Pick tool along with the Hacking Tool that he’d given me earlier. Glancing at my system messages, I was surprised to see how much skill it took to work with the components.

Once we had a pile of good fuses, Bruvoug next showed me how to slide the good fuse into the components that I’d pulled from the Power Towers. The process again gave me practice in Hacking, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and even Computer Literacy. When I’d finished placing the last fuse, the Neogenus laid the Mass Energy Charger that I’d sold to him earlier in front of me.

“Do you see these slots built into the body of the weapon?” Bruvoug asked after I’d popped off the panel that he’d directed me to remove, “This is where most weapons have available slots for additional upgrades.” He tapped the single slot that was filled.
